About the Cater Council

We created the Cater Council as a resource for restaurant operators seeking guidance on growing their catering business. The council houses a directory of experts, each in their respective catering specialties, that operators can consult with for catering growth strategies, marketing, tech, operations, and more. The council serves as a board of advisors to the industry to help guide restaurants in growing their catering business. Featuring exclusive content, tools, seminars, and more, operators can tap into the council for strategic improvements and learnings in QSR, full-service, and fast casual catering.

Today we’re announcing Kelly Grogan, Co-founder of CRUMBS, a leading off-premise growth agency for restaurants, as the first member of the Cater Council. Why did you join the Cater Council?

The industry is screaming that everyone needs to DO catering, but there aren’t enough resources to inform operators HOW to do it. The Cater Council is a dedicated forum to bring together the people who are in the day-to-day, who are experiencing the roadblocks preventing growth, and who are responsible for scaling catering programs inside their organizations. I am so proud to be part of this council because this powerful group of individuals is going to change the future of catering for all operators.

What are some areas of expertise you are able to offer to restaurant operators? 

CRUMBS is an agency dedicated to being an extra set of hands for operators. We act as an outsourced revenue department for managing and driving catering programs, local store marketing efforts, and overall sales growth.

What do you hope to learn from the Cater community? 

Every operator is in a different part of the process when it comes to catering - starting, scaling, fixing, and re-launching. This community is going to bring together the expertise from every level and every type of restaurant to bring experience and learning to make everyone’s program stronger. There’s no shortage of customers looking to order catering, so how can we work together to build programs that match their brands and get our food in those hands?

Catering sales teams have one of the most difficult jobs in the industry. They navigate a fun balance between what is possible in the restaurant and what the guest wants. Innovation is at the core of their day-to-day work, and together in this community, sharing thoughtful ideas and success stories and building a supportive environment will create an unstoppable group focused on improving all things catering.
